Attorney Marie P. Grady helped lead the largest daily newspaper in Western Massachusetts to a record number of awards before taking up study of the law and leading literacy efforts in Hampden County. A 2010 graduate of Western New England College School of Law, the former managing editor of The Republican interned with a Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court judge and won academic honors in criminal adjudication, immigration and mediation. She is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and Connecticut and is also a notary public, grant writer and certified mediator. As a journalist who covers Connecticut legal issues, she does not appear before Connecticut state courts or directly represent clients in litigation there in order to avoid potential news coverage conflicts. A general practitioner, she does not specialize in any one area of the law.
